The kindergarten students have been going WILD IN THE WINTER! We jumped right into the month of January with an author study of Jan Brett. Throughout the month, we are exploring the globe through these amazing stories. We are also doing many fun and exciting winter activities. During our Enrichment Program the students are involved a variety of great learning experiences. Science: Mrs. Hendricks and Mrs. Dietz are focusing on the concepts of matter. They have been doing many fun, hands-on experiments to help the children learn about solids, liquids, and gasses. Social Studies: Mrs. Fowler-Conner had the children write down their resolutions for the new year. Next time you are in the building, please take time to read these adorable writings. During the next few weeks, the children will be learning about famous people in history. They have been writing about their hopes and dreams as they study Martin Luther King. In the upcoming weeks, the children will learn about Abraham Lincoln and George Washington. Computer: Mrs. Russell is continuing to work with the children on learning how to use the Kids Works Deluxe program. The lessons that the children are working on in the lab reinforce the skills the children are learning in the classroom during Writers Workshop. Health: Ms. Obrist is working with the students on their Five Senses. The children will be reading fun stories and doing many fun activities to enrich their learning with this exciting concept.
